Which Zurich Style To Choose?

Some questions to consider:

1. What kind of weather do you fly in?
2. Do you fly into direct sun?
3. Are your eyes normally sensitive to bright light?
4. Are you interested in cutting only glare?
5. Or are you interested in seeing colors better on cloudy conditions?

With the above questions in mind, consider your choice of shades and lenses.

Gray base lenses are best for full bright sun. It cuts glare the best. We make the gray lenses in light, medium and dark shades.

If you fly into direct sun, then you need (at least) the medium shade. Most modelers find the medium shade to be adequate. If your eyes are more sensitive, then we recommend the dark shade.

If you do not fly into direct sun, even on a sunny day, then we recommend the light shade…it cuts glare without being too dark.

Our general rule of thumb is: If your eyes are very sensitive to bright light, we recommend you use the gray base lenses instead. Your eyes will be more comfortable.

Rose base lenses are best for overcast, cloudy, hazy, some-sun-peaking through days. The rose lenses will enhance colors. The colors will appear more vividly, especially well against a gray hazy sky. You will see clearly all the colors of the color spectrum…without distortion. The rose lenses enhance definition and contrast on an overcast day.

The rose lenses will still cut glare. Generally, most modelers use the medium and dark rose lenses for flying into direct sun or partly sunny conditions. These shades will make your eyes feel more comfortable when flying into direct sun.

The light shade of rose will still enable you to fly into direct sun… however, it will be real bright, and not very comfortable while flying into the sun.
